Police seek driver of SUV who fled after running over 76-year-old man

Incident occurred Nov. 7, 2017 in 6400 block of South Zarzamora St

SAN ANTONIO – The San Antonio Police Department and Crime Stoppers want the public’s assistance in tracking down the person responsible for a fatal hit-and-run.

The incident occurred on Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2017 in the 6400 block of South Zarzamora Street. 

According to police, 76-year-old Samuel Gonzales was walking across three lanes of northbound traffic at South Zarzamora when he was struck by a vehicle.

That's when, police said, Gonzales was also run over by a black sport utility vehicle who then failed to stop and render aid. Gonzales did not survive his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Anyone with any knowledge of the hit-and-run is urged to call Crime Stoppers at (210) 224-STOP.

Crime Stoppers will pay up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest.
