Dead woman found in parking lot had 'apparent head trauma,' police say

Police say trail of blood went across North Flores Street

SAN ANTONIO – Police have released more information about the death of a woman who was found in a parking lot on a busy downtown street corner Sunday morning.

Authorities said the woman, believed to have been in her 40s, had apparent head trauma.

Police said they found the woman lying over a pipe rail in the parking lot and a bloody trail across North Flores Street.

Chief William McManus said the blood trail streamed from a VIA bus bench at Flores and West Travis streets, and continued all the way to the parking lot where the woman died.

McManus said they have not yet identified the woman, but believe she was homeless.
