Man, 26, shot while running away from gunfire

Victim suffers non-life-threatening injuries in shooting on East Side

SAN ANTONIO – A 26-year-old man was shot late Thursday night on the city's East Side.

Police said the victim was riding in the front seat of a vehicle in the 1000 block of St. James around 11:30 p.m. when someone in a car opened fire.

The man ran out of the vehicle on Burleson Street, where he was shot in the right calf, police said.

The victim was taken to San Antonio Military Medical Center with a non-life-threatening injury. 

No arrests have been made.
