Authorities searching for car after child is taken, abandoned in vehicle theft

SAN ANTONIO – The Bexar County Sheriff's office said they are searching for a stolen car that was taken early Monday morning with a 3-year-old in the back seat.

The BCSO said the vehicle was stolen in West Bexar County in the 3000 block of Beacon Field.

Upon arrival it was learned that a three year old child was in the back seat of the stolen vehicle.

Deputies along with assistance of SAPD and SAPD Eagle began a search for the vehicle.

The child was left in front of a residence in the 8800 blk of Bravo Valley, about four miles away from the address of where the vehicle was stolen from.

Bexar County sheriff's deputies said the child was found in about 20 minutes and was not injured.

The vehicle was stolen along with the child from a driveway while the mother was allegedly unloading groceries from the vehicle.

The suspect is at-large and possibly still in possession of the stolen Civic.

The truck is a 2006 silver Honda Civic with the License Plate DR6S351 and with a pit bull sticker on the back window.

The Bexar County Sheriff's Office is asking people to call 210-335-6000 to report any information involving the suspect or the location of the vehicle.
