Man facing slew of charges after setting 2 houses, car on fire, deputies say

Martin Munoz, 54, facing four charges including attempted capital murder

SAN ANTONIO – Bexar County fire marshals arrested a man who they say lit two houses and a car on fire late Thursday night.

Martin Munoz, 54, is charged with attempted capital murder, arson and two counts of arson of a habitation.

He was taken into custody just after 8 a.m. Friday.

The fires were reported just before 11 p.m. in the 23000 block of Highway 281 in far South Bexar County.

According to deputies, witnesses said they saw the man set the fires and that they also recognized him.

Authorities did not say how much damage was done to each home.

The Bexar County Sheriff's Office, the Bexar County Fire Department, and the fire marshal all responded to the scene.

No injuries were reported.
