3 men arrested in connection to deadly triple shooting

Jesus Garcia, 22, shot dead in car, 2 others wounded

SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio police have arrested three men in connection with a July 4 shooting death on the West Side which they say stemmed from a drug deal.

Members of the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force and SAPD’s Street Crimes Unit arrested Lonnie Ellison, 19, and his 22-year-old brother, Christian Ellison, Thursday in the 7900 block of W. Military.

Jordan Davis, 19, was rounded up during a traffic stop in the area of Highway 151 and West Military.

All three are charged with murder and aggravated assault in connection with the shooting that killed Jesus Garcia, 22, and wounded David Chavira, 22, and Robert Serrato, 18.

The victims were found in a car in the 2700 block of Castroville Road.

An arrest warrant affidavit said all three suspects fired shots into the victims’ car while a fourth person drove them.

It said the two groups originally had made plans to meet up for a drug deal.

"This is tragic situation all around because all of these men are young in age and early teens,” said Officer Douglas Greene, a public information officer for SAPD. “It's sad they are finding themselves in these predicaments."

The affidavit said investigators were able to get a look at the getaway car from surveillance video they obtained.

It said there also were some witnesses who came forward with information, including the person who was driving the getaway car.
