SEGUIN, Texas – The Seguin Public Library will be awarded Wednesday for its LEED gold status.
The designation LEED, which stands for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, is the foremost program for buildings and communities that are made to have the least amount of impact to the environment.
The mayor of Seguin said anyone who has seen the new library has been impressed with its beauty and function.
The library is the first building in the city to receive the gold certification.
Seguin officials will unveil the new plaque Wednesday morning at the library.
