2 wounded in shooting at far East Side gas station, police say

Shooting occurred just before 11 p.m. at a Valero on N. W.W. White Rd

SAN ANTONIO – Two people have been taken to an area hospital after they were wounded in a drive-by shooting at a far East Side gas station late Thursday night, San Antonio police said.

The shooting was reported just before 11 p.m. at a Valero gas station in the 250 block of North W. W. White Road.

According to San Antonio Police Chief William McManus, the two victims were walking into the convenience store when the suspects pulled up and opened fire.

One of the men was shot multiple times and the other was hit once in the back, McManus said. Both victims were taken to San Antonio Military Medical Center for their injuries. Their present condition are not currently known.

McManus said the victim shot once in the back drove to a home in the 700 block of  Dunwoodie Drive where he was picked up by emergency crews. McManus said that victim was an unfortunate bystander.

The unidentified suspects fled the scene following the shooting in a black Nissan Altima.

At this time no arrests have been made. The investigation is on-going.
