Man likely died after having medical episode during altercation, police say

Officers responded to assault call around 1 a.m. in 1400 block of N. Onslow

SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio police are investigating after officers responding to an assault call found a man dead at an East Side home early Friday morning.

Police responded to the neighborhood around 1 a.m. and were across the street in the 1400 block of North Onslow when a woman flagged down an officer, telling them someone had died.

Police said the woman told them she had gotten into an argument with a man right before. Emergency crews responded, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said they are working to determine the exact cause of death but believe the victim may have had a medical episode during the altercation. The name of the man deceased is not currently known.

Authorities said they briefly detained the woman for questioning but she has since been released. A vehicle was also towed from the scene for evidence.
