2 men suspected of drinking before slamming into highway support beam, SAPD says

SAN ANTONIO – Two men were taken to the hospital in critical condition Sunday afternoon after police said the pair crashed a truck into a cement support pillar under Interstate 35. 

According to police, the men exited the highway at Randolph Boulevard and continued driving down the access road, crashing into a support beam under the highway. Police said the driver made no attempt to brake.

Police believe the men had been drinking prior to the crash. 

Both men were cut out of the truck and were taken to San Antonio Military Medical Center in critical condition.
