Police: Suspect charged in stabbing of man on West Side street

SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio police have arrested a man who they say stabbed another with a knife during an altercation in the middle of a West Side street.

Fernando Maldonado, 20, has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

According to police, the argument started at a home located in the 6700 block of Blue Oak Lane, which is not far from Marbach Road.

Officers responded to the area around 6:30 a.m. Saturday after receiving a call about the stabbing.

Police said they found a man in his 30s stabbed. He was taken to an area hospital in critical condition. 

A witness at the scene was able to provide a statement and identify Maldonado to the authorities.
