First responders get into San Antonio Zoo FREE during month of September

Offer applies to police, fire, EMTs

SAN ANTONIO – Firefighters, police officers and emergency medical technicians can get free admission to the San Antonio Zoo throughout the month of September as the zoo celebrates first responders.

A valid ID must be presented to receive the freebie and up to four immediate family members can get 50 percent off standard admission.

"Similar to our Zoo Salutes and Teacher Appreciation Months, this offer pays tribute to the unsung heroes of our San Antonio and Bexar County community who often sacrifice family time in order to serve and protect the rest of us," the zoo said in a news release.

The discount or free tickets must be purchased at the gate. The tickets are valid on the same day of purchase and can't be combined with any other discounts or offers.

And, as a bonus, first responders will also get to enjoy the first two weekends of the Zoo Boo! non-scary, daytime Halloween event.

The deal runs from Sept. 1-30. Tickets are only valid on the same day of the purchase and can't be combined with any other offers or discounts.

More information can be found on the zoo website.
