15 people, including multiple children, forced to evacuate due to electrical fire
Fire was reported around 6:30 a.m. in 500 block of E. Mitchell St
SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio firefighters responded to fire at a multi-family structure on the city's South Side early Friday morning.
The fire was reported just after 6:30 a.m. in the 500 block of East Mitchell Street, which is located not far from South Presa Street and Interstate 10.
According to the battalion chief, it was an electrical fire that started in the walls. 15 people were evacuated, with all the families displaced for the time being.
Officials said out of 15 people evacuated at least seven were children. No one was transported to the hospital. One person however was treated for smoke inhalation.
A damage estimate is not currently known.
