SAN ANTONIO – A pregnant woman injured in a crash at a VIA bus stop Tuesday morning on Culebra Road has given birth, but the two are still recovering from their injuries.

Stephanie Athey, 28, was one of four victims from Tuesday's crash, which happened on Culebra Road near Zarzamora Street.

The victims were waiting at the bus stop when a driver lost control and hit all four people sitting on the bus bench.

A statement from Athey's family was released Friday evening, which said in part:

"Our family is greatly appreciative of everyone's thoughts and prayers. We would like to express our gratitude to the citizens and first responders who rendered aid at the scene. Special thanks goes to the team at University Hospital who have worked tirelessly to give Stephanie and baby Ethan a fighting chance."

Athey's family also asked people who want to help the victims to donate blood.

It is unclear if the driver was charged or if he's going to be.
