Person arrested after making gun threat via Snapchat against South San High School

Letter sent from principal to parents, guardians

SAN ANTONIO – A person was arrested after using Snapchat Thursday to make a gun threat against South San High School .

According to a letter sent by Principal Lee Hernandez, the FBI traced the Internet Protocol address of the individual, who was arrested within 10 minutes.

Hernandez said there was no immediate threat to the school and the school day was not disruptive.

The individual told law enforcement officers that the threat was a joke, the letter said.

The San Antonio Police Department is helping with the investigation.
