Free family festival on Saturday celebrates Missions and SA food

World Heritage Festival this weekend

SAN ANTONIO – A big celebration will take place this week in San Antonio.

For five days, the World Heritage Festival will take place at the San Antonio Missions. 

The festival begins Wednesday with a press conference at the Alamo. 

Events will continue until Sunday. Below is the schedule of the events. 

Wednesday, Sept. 5: World Heritage Press Conference at the Alamo, 10 a.m.

Thursday, Sept. 6: Sunset Picnic at Mission San Juan Farm, 6:30 p.m. (CANCELED)

Friday, Sept. 7: Restored by Light at Mission San Jose, 6 p.m. (CANCELED)

Saturday, Sept. 8: Tour de las Misiones Bike Ride, Walk & Run at Mission Park Pavilion, 8 a.m.; Mission Pachanga at Mission Park Pavilion, 10 a.m.; Threads of Time: Spinning, Weaving and Dyeing at the Missions at Mission Espada, 10 a.m.

Sunday, Sept. 9: Celebratory Mass at Mission Concepcion, noon.
