Man with paraplegia wounded during shooting at East Side home

Shooting was reported just after 10 p.m. in 100 block of Dafoste Avenue

SAN ANTONIO – A 36-year-old man with paraplegia was wounded during a shooting at an East Side home overnight, San Antonio police said Friday.

The shooting was reported just after 10 p.m. at a home in the 100 block of Dafoste Avenue, not far from Interstate 10 and East Commerce Street.

According to police, the man was lying in bed inside the home when the house was shot at several times. Neighbors in the area said they heard gunshots but did not see anyone firing. 

At this time, it is unclear what the motive is for the shooting and police said they do not have any suspects.

The unnamed victim was taken to San Antonio Military Medical Center for his injuries. His condition is not currently known.

The investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
