Road rage incident leads to shooting of man outside apartment complex, police say

Shooting occurred just after 4 a.m. in 2400 block of Oakhill Rd

SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio police are investigating after a man was shot following a road rage incident on the city's West Side early Tuesday morning.

The shooting was reported just after 4 a.m. in the 2400 block of Oakhill Road, which is not far from both Callaghan Road and Ingram Road.

According to police, two men were driving on Loop 410 near Evers Road when the driver of a gold Honda started driving alongside them and going back and forth around their truck.

Police said the man dropped his passenger off at the Ingram Ranch Apartments and saw the same vehicle pass by. That's when, police say, the driver waited in a parking lot next to the apartments as a precaution right before seeing the Honda appear.

Both people from inside the Honda began yelling and then opened fire at the driver, who had gotten out of his truck, police said. The man was shot in his leg, police said.

Police said the culprits fled the scene following the shooting. The 31-year-old victim was taken to University Hospital for his injuries. He is expected to recover.

So far, no arrests have been made in the case. The investigation is ongoing.
