Lightning strike suspected in Alamo Ranch house fire

No one injured in early morning blaze

SAN ANTONIO – Lightning is suspected of causing an early morning house fire in the Alamo Ranch area Saturday morning.

Firefighters were called to the home in the 5900 block of Amber Rose at 4:12 a.m., according to Bexar County Emergency Service District 7 Fire Chief Kevin Clarkson. Clarkson said his firefighters assisted those from ESD 2 in responding to the blaze.

While it appeared to be a lightning strike, Clarkson said, the Bexar County Fire Marshal's Office will handle the investigation.

Neighbor, Robert Anguiano, said the occupants of the house, a woman and her son, made it out safely.
