Police search for bar brawlers; victims say fight was case of mistaken identity

SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio police are searching for eight people involved in a bar brawl earlier this month that left at least two people with injuries.

According to a police report, a fight broke out on the dance floor of a bar in the 8300 block of Marbach Road Sept. 9.

Two victims told police that they were roped into the fight due to mistaken identity. One of the victims said someone thought he was involved and began to assault him, adding that he was chased outside of the bar and hit in the face with a beer bottle.

The second victim told police he thinks he was mistaken for someone else and attempted to run to the parking lot, away from his attackers, when he was hit on the back of the head. He suffered a cut to his left eye, according to a report.

A witness told police they weren't sure who the suspects were.

Police said property was taken from the victims during the assault.

Those with information about the brawl are asked to call robbery detectives at 210-207-0300.
