Man linked to 2 Starbucks robberies arrested after leading officers on pursuit, police say

Sean Lacey facing 2 aggravated robbery charges

SAN ANTONIO – A man accused of robbing two Starbucks locations at gunpoint has been arrested by San Antonio police.

Officers with the San Antonio Police Department Robbery Task Force Unit received new evidence Wednesday morning on a suspect that led them to a motel on I-35 and Goldfield on the Northeast Side.

Officers caught up with Sean Lacey, who they then tried to stop, but Lacey got into his vehicle and evaded police.

Police followed the suspect at a safe distance and were able to catch up to him on I-10 and Foster Road, where they arrested Lacey in an open field.

The first robbery happened Friday at the Starbucks location on Loop 1604 near Vance Jackson Road.

The other one happened Sunday morning at the location on Loop 410 and Vance Jackson Road.

Police said they found substantial evidence to link Lacey to the crimes. They said he took the employees’ cellphones during the robbery and took off with money. It’s unknown if he kept the phones.

Lacey is believed to have acted alone, police said.

Lacey faces two counts of aggravated robbery and may face additional charges.
