SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio police are looking for the person who attacked a man who was sleeping inside a Southeast Side apartment.
Officers learned the victim showed up at Mission Trail Baptist Hospital around 4:30 a.m. Monday.
They say the victim suffered several stab wounds, including some to his hand and back.
Officers said the attack occurred at an apartment located in the 3400 block of East Southcross.
At the scene police said, they found blood in a bedroom as well as some narcotics inside the apartment. They did not however immediately locate a weapon and said that the attacker had left prior to officers arriving.
Police say there were other people inside the apartment when the stabbing happened and that they drove the victim to the hospital.
Police did not identify a motive.
Police said the victim was sleeping when the suspect, who was known to people inside the home, stabbed him.
The victim's wounds were not considered life-threatening, police said.
