SAN ANTONIO – FEMA will test an emergency phone messaging system at 1:18 p.m. CST on Wednesday, Oct. 3.
The nationwide test will pop a message box up on your phone, accompanied by a tone and vibration.
The test is for the Wireless Emergency Alert system in coordination with the Federal Communications Commission.
According to a Tweet from FEMA, the test alert is not a text and your phone number will not be shared with anyone.
