A 31-year-old man was shot and was taken to University Hospital in stable condition, police said in a preliminary report. Pellets from the shotgun also struck the area above the swing, according to police.

A woman who was with the man and the other woman at the time of the shooting ran from the scene, police said.

One witness provided a description of the gunman to police, but the people on the front porch said they had not been able to see the shooter.
