SAN ANTONIO – Police are investigating after a gunman fired several rounds at two women and a man sitting on a porch swing outside a home on the city's West Side.

According to a preliminary report, the gunman approached the side of the home in the 3000 block of West Salinas Street and fired shots directly at the front porch of the home, where the three people were sitting on a porch swing.

A 31-year-old man was shot and was taken to University Hospital in stable condition, police said in a preliminary report. Pellets from the shotgun also struck the area above the swing, according to police.

A woman who was with the man and the other woman at the time of the shooting ran from the scene, police said.

One witness provided a description of the gunman to police, but the people on the front porch said they had not been able to see the shooter.
