FREDRICKSBURG, Texas – Authorities have arrested a Fredricksburg woman's estranged boyfriend in connection with her murder.

Aguilar was found unresponsive in her apartment in the 400 block of E. Walnut in Fredricksburg Monday morning. Police said she was taken to an area hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Evidence at the scene pointed to a possible struggle, according to police.

Police said Aguilar's family suspected Flores had killed her because the pair had recently broken up and a witness observed him driving near the scene earlier the morning of her death.

A news release from the Atascosa County Sheriff's Office stated that Flores confessed to killing his girlfriend after deputies responded to a call for a suspicious person on Farm to Market Road 3350 Tuesday evening.

Flores told Atascosa County investigators he left Aguilar's 3-year-old child at the scene after killing Aguilar, according to a release.

Police said Flores is believed to have been living in the country illegally and is originally from Mexico.

Fredricksburg police charged Flores with murder. His bond was set at $1 million.
