SAN ANTONIO – Wet roads and speeding are believed to be the cause of several accidents early Thursday morning on Wurzbach Parkway.
Six crashes were reported within a 1-mile stretch of the road between Wetmore Road and Nacogdoches Road on the city's Northeast Side.
Police said the crashes were in the east and westbound lanes and that one of the crashes took out a chunk of the guardrail.
There was no immediate word if anyone was injured in the crashes.
On Wednesday, six crashes were also reported near the same stretch of the highway, police said.
In addition to wet roads, police said motorists are likely to blame for the crashes.
"A lot of time, speed plays a factor," said Officer Carlos Ortiz, a police spokesman. "Slow down. It's better to get to work a little late than to have an accident on the way to work."
