Motorcyclist killed after sliding under 18-wheeler identified

Police say slick roads caused fatal crash

SAN ANTONIO – A motorcyclist is dead after skidding on a weather-slick roadway and sliding under an 18-wheeler on the East Side. 

Police said the man, identified by the medical examiner's office as 37-year-old Ernest Drummond, lost control of his motorcycle around 9:30 a.m. Sunday as he tried to take the ramp from eastbound I-10 to southbound Loop 410.

Drummond slid under an 18-wheeler and died at the scene.

Police said misty conditions made the highway slick and that appeared to be the cause the fatal crash.

Officers shut down the roads around the crash while investigators gathered evidence.
