SAN ANTONIO – A man who was shot at a North Side home has died of his wounds, according to the Bexar County Medical Examiner’s office.
Staff members said as of 5:30 a.m. Tuesday, they had only a tentative identification for the man but they believe he was in his 40s.
San Antonio police found him around 12:30 a.m., critically wounded, inside a home in the 12400 block of Waltampton Street.
They say there had been an assault happening inside that home when the shooting started, and that the man who was shot did not live there.
The man suffered a gunshot wound to the chest and was rushed to a hospital where he died.
A woman inside the home was grazed by a ricocheting bullet.
Afterward, officers led another man away in handcuffs.
However, they said the man was being taken in for questioning and did not call him a suspect right away.
Officers said they were not sure who pulled the trigger.
