SAN ANTONIO – A man has suffered life-threatening stab wounds during a surprise attack by a driver with a knife.

San Antonio police found the victim at a home in the 6000 block of Pearl Pass on the city’s Southeast Side.

They say he and a friend told officers they were walking home from a nearby park around midnight when a black sedan suddenly pulled up, the driver got out and began slashing at them with a knife.

One of the men suffered stab wounds to his chest, arm and leg.

He was rushed to a hospital by ambulance with what police described as life-threatening injuries.

The second man was not seriously hurt.

The attacker was able to escape.

Police did not immediately release a description of that person who was driving the black sedan.
