SAPD: Driver arrested after ramming van into car multiple times in road rage incident

Darrell Peavy, 55, facing several charges, police say

SAN ANTONIO – A 55-year-old man is in police custody following a road rage incident on the city's Northwest Side overnight, San Antonio police said.

According to police, around 1 a.m., Darrell Peavy, 55, allegedly became angry about a car cutting him off and started following and ramming his minivan into the back of a vehicle.

Peavy's van struck the victim's car multiple times between Loop 410 and Blanco Road and UTSA Boulevard and I-10, police said.

Police said the victims stopped near Vance Jackson Road and DeZavala Road, where they met officers. The van was found stopped on UTSA Boulevard, with Peavy in the driver seat, police said.

The four people inside the car, all between the ages of 52-59, reported injuries to their necks and backs.

Authorities say Peavy was found to be intoxicated and was processed for a DWI. He is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, police said.
