2 men found shot at shopping center may have tried to rob man, police say

SAPD: Men face potential aggravated robbery charges

SAN ANTONIO – Two people found with gunshot wounds at a far West Side shopping center may have been wounded while attempting to rob a man late Wednesday night, San Antonio police said.

Officers were called just after 11 p.m. to the Alamo Ranch Shopping Center near Loop 1604 and Culebra Road after receiving word of multiple people shot.

According to police, the two men were found near the Scrubs and Beyond store. One of the men was shot in the arm and the other in the lower back and shoulder, police said.

A police report of the incident said the men told them exactly where they were shot, and when officers went to the location they found another man claiming to have been robbed.

The man told police the two men came to his door, pointed a gun at him and demanded his property. Authorities say the man told them he got his gun as they were driving off and began shooting at the vehicle, hitting it several times.

The two men found at the shopping center were both wounded while inside the vehicle, police said.

The men were taken to University Hospital for their injuries and are expected to recover. They face potential charges of aggravated robbery. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
