SAN ANTONIO – Federal, state, and local authorities arrested 26 members of the Texas Mexican Mafia on Friday.
Authorities are looking for three others connected to a heroin- and cocaine-trafficking operation in the area.

This week, a federal grand jury returned an indictment against a total of 37 defendants -- besides the 26 arrested Friday, eight were already in custody and three are still on the run.
The U.S. Attorney's Office for the Western District of Texas said charges contained in a federal grand jury indictment unsealed include conspiracy to interfere with commerce by threats or violence; conspiracy to distribute controlled substances; possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance; and use, carrying, or discharging a firearm in relation to a drug trafficking crime.
The indictment alleges that all of the Texas Mafia members, including their general, were responsible for distributing drugs since January 2015. They all face up to 20 years in prison if convicted.
The men arrested range in age from 26 to 72 years old.
