2nd suspect arrested in 2016 murder in Converse

Charles Fuller, 23, charged with capital murder

SAN ANTONIO – Charles Fuller, 23, is now the second person to be arrested on a capital murder charge stemming from a shooting death in Converse last August.

Converse police believe the death of Thomas Mirone III was related to a drug sale.

An arrest warrant affidavit said that a witness told investigators the 24-year-old victim met with a group of men Aug. 24 with plans to sell them marijuana. Instead, Mirone was shot and killed.

The affidavit said that the witness told police that initially there were four men involved.

He said he saw Fuller and another man, Tyler Collins, 22, at the scene holding guns, and that Fuller hit him in the head with the weapon, the affidavit said.

Collins was arrested in February, also on a charge of capital murder.

According to the affidavit, police questioned Fuller about the case last October but he denied any involvement. He was arrested Tuesday and booked into the Bexar County jail with his bond set at $500,000.

It's unclear if two other men named in connection with this case will face any charges.
