39 suspects arrested on drugs, weapons charges in drug operation

Special task force targeted known meth traffickers

NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas – Thirty-eight men and women who are facing 44 felony drug and weapons charges are being held in the Comal County Jail.

Operation: Crystal Lake is a five-month investigation which targeted known methamphetamine traffickers who operated in the New Braunfels-Canyon Lake-Comal County area.

Authorities had arrested 24 people during the initial phases of the investigation which led to 19 indictments handed down by a grand jury and an additional four arrest warrants.

A special task force on Wednesday executed the warrants. In all, 39 people were arrested.

The investigation has yielded a total of 11.5 pounds of meth, about 1 pound of cocaine, more than 40 grams of heroin, about $5,000 in cash, eight firearms — including two recovered stolen — and the vehicles — one of which was recovered stolen.

The special task force was made up of local and federal agencies.

Some of the suspects had links to Mexican trafficking organizations, a matter which is still under investigation.

The Comal County district attorney said if convicted, their punishments could range from two to 99 years in prison.

The following list includes the names of the suspects arrested and their charges:
