SAN ANTONIO - San Antonio arson investigators have been called to the scene of a house fire on the West Side that may be suspicious, according to firefighters.

The fire broke out shortly before 5:30 a.m. Monday at a home in the 2300 block of Ceralvo Street, just west of General McMullen.

The fire, however, started on the outside of the home, firefighters said.

Two women who live in the home told KSAT 12 they're convinced it was someone's failed attempt to burn down their home.

They said they had a problem at the property a couple of days ago, and that they had an idea of who might've started the fire.

Firefighters at the scene would not say right away whether they found it to be suspicious or, perhaps, an accidental fire.

The fire also caused a small amount of damage to a shed next door.

In all, there were five people asleep inside the home when the fire broke out. They all escaped injury.
