Darden Restaurants has announced a data breach that could affect customers at its Cheddar's restaurants in 23 states including Texas.
In a statement, Darden officials said the point-of-sale system may have been compromised in a cyberattack incident, exposing credit card information for more than a half million customers.

The breach affects customers who visited Cheddar's between Nov. 3, 2017, and Jan. 2, 2018. Darden acquired Cheddar's in December 2017. The company says it disabled and replaced the Cheddar's payment system in April as part of its integration process.
The affected states include: Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Delaware, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Maryland, Michigan, Missouri, Nebraska, New Mexico, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Texas, Virginia and Wisconsin.
