SAN ANTONIO - A teen with autism who was run over by a truck on the South Side on Saturday night has died.

The Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the teen as 15-year-old Jeremy Garcia.

Police said a call came in for a male walking along the Interstate 35 access road near Stonewall Street, and then another call came in saying the male had been hit by a vehicle. Soon after, police received a call about a missing teen with autism.

Officials said a quadrant had been set up to look for the teen.

Authorities then called over one of Garcia's parents, who identified personal items at the scene as those of her son.

The driver of the truck said he didn’t see the teen on the street.

Garcia was taken to University Hospital in serious condition, where he later died.
