BCSO detention officer accused of assaulting wife, deputies say

Loren Adams charged with assault family violence, unlawful restraint

SAN ANTONIO – A detention officer with the Bexar County Adult Detention Center was arrested after he assaulted his wife, the Bexar County Sheriff's Office said.

Deputies responded to a call around 4:30 p.m. Friday for a disturbance in the 6500 block of Candlebrite Drive.

BCSO officials said deputies discovered a man had assaulted his wife. They discovered upon further investigation that the man, Loren Adams, was a detention officer at the Bexar County Adult Detention Center.

Adams was arrested on charges including assault family violence and unlawful restraint.

The Sheriff's Office said changes in the detention officer's employment status are likely and will be announced at a later time.
