SAN ANTONIO – A Bexar County Sheriff's Office deputy has been indicted on three criminal counts, including official oppression.
Cynthia Benavidez is accused of assaulting a man in her custody on April 14, 2015.

Court records say Benavidez pulled Ryan Barboza's leg, causing him to fall.
Benavidez turned herself in last week. She is also charged with assault by public servant and violation of civil rights.
