SAN ANTONIO - A Bexar County detention deputy was arrested Monday evening after a family disturbance.
According to a Bexar County Sheriff's Office press release, deputies responded to the incident around 7:15 p.m. and determined off-duty detention deputy Joseph Barbier had assaulted a family member.
Barbier was taken into custody, booked early Tuesday morning and charged with assault bodily injury of a family member.
He was released from the magistrate's office after posting a $3,500 bond, the release stated.
Barbier has worked at the Bexar County Sheriff's Office since October 2012.
He was placed on administrative leave per while Bexar County sheriff's officials investigate the incident.
No further information has been released.
