Bicyclist hospitalized after being hit by truck

Accident occurred on Hildebrand Ave near Neer St

SAN ANTONIO – A man riding his bicycle was hit by a truck after they suddenly changed lanes without signaling, San Antonio police said Friday.

The accident occurred on Hildebrand Avenue near Neer Street just before 10:30 p.m. Thursday.

Authorities said both the bicyclist and the truck were traveling eastbound when the man on the bike attempted to change lanes.

The pickup driver could not stop in time and hit the bicyclist, pushing him forward roughly 30 feet, police said.

The injured bicyclist was taken to University Hospital with multiple injuries. His condition is not presently known.

Police said the driver will not be charged.
