Investigators said the man's car may have ran out of gas on the on-ramp from I-10 east to 1604 west. Police said they believe he fell accidentally to the access road late last night.

The man's car was also found above the access road on the elevated ramp, police said.

The name of the man has yet to be released.

Police said the homicide unit was not originally called out, just the traffic unit. The call first came in as an injured or sick person on the access road.
