Border Patrol finds big cocaine stash in bathroom of a bus

South Texas agents say drugs worth more than $1.4 million

SARITA, TEXAS – U.S. Border Patrol agents on Thursday seized more than a million dollars of cocaine hidden in the bathroom of a passenger bus.

The bust came after a routine stop at the Border Patrol checkpoint in Sarita.

A drug-sniffing dog alerted agents to the bathroom of the bus.

Agents got the passengers off, then searched and found more than 44 pounds of cocaine with an estimated street value of about $1.4 million.

The cocaine had been wrapped in black tape and concealed inside the toilet.

Agents allowed the passengers to continue their trip. No arrests have been made.
