SAN ANTONIO – Last month, San Antonio Mayor Ivy Taylor asked city staff to draw up an ordinance withdrawing city money from VIA's proposed streetcar project.
On Wednesday, the San Antonio City Council will verify the petition to amend section 128 of the city's charter at the council's B-session.
The Texas Secretary of State already confirmed that there are 20,999 signatures on the petition, which is enough to put the streetcar project on the November ballot.
VIA has since put the controversial streetcar project on hold.
