SAN ANTONIO – The city has plans to fix the low-water crossing at the entrance of OP Schnabel Park, an area known to flood and close down during heavy rainfall.
District 7 Councilwoman Ana Sandoval said the plan is to elevate the roadway over box culverts so that there's less flooding and less traffic in the French Creek Village neighborhood, which leads to the park's secondary entrance.

“There is a lot of traffic. There is a YMCA in that park. There is a lot of biking communities within this community, and so there are a lot of people disrupted within those neighborhoods in those areas and they have safety concerns for that,” resident Jamie Engel said.
Engineers will take questions and concerns from residents to see if there are any other changes needed during the designing process.
