COMAL COUNTY, Texas - A police impersonator has reportedly been pulling over vehicles and has even asked to search a car, according to the Comal County Sheriff's Office.

The man is described as 5 feet 9 inches tall, with a pot belly, and was wearing an outfit that looked similar to a Texas DPS Trooper uniform with a black ball cap and a plain gold badge. He has been seen driving a tan or gold Crown Victoria with red and blue lights in the windshield.

"If you're not sure of who exactly is pulling you over, we suggest you pull over into a well-lit area, call our dispatch or 911 and have them send an extra unit to you," said Comal County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Jennifer Smith.

Crime Stoppers is offering up to a $2,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.

People can leave a tip online or can call 1-830-620-8477.
