Third suspect arrested in girl's fatal shooting denies involvement

Manuel Watson says 'Only God knows' who shot, killed Iris Rodriguez, 7

SAN ANTONIOUpdate at 2 p.m.:

Watson told reporters during a police escort that "only God knows" who fatally shot 7-year-old Iris Rodriguez.

He said that he was playing basketball when the shooting occured.

Watson also said he doesn't know the two other suspects arrested in the case.

Update at 11 a.m.:

Watson was arrested by the Lone Star Fugitive task force, San Antonio police said. We'll have more information on the arrest as it becomes available.

The San Antonio Police Department and Crime Stoppers want the public’s assistance in tracking down a third person responsible for the shooting death of 7-year-old Iris Rodriguez.

SAPD has issued a capital murder warrant for Manuel Watson, 22, also known as "Blame". 

Watson, once found, would be the third suspect arrested in the death of Rodriguez who was shot and killed June 1 while walking with her mother along San Fernando Street on the city’s West Side. Her mother was also shot, but survived.

Frank Gamez, 28, and Jonathan Campos, 22, have already been arrested in connection to the crime. 

Anyone with information on Watson's whereabouts is urged to call Crime Stoppers at (210) 224-STOP.

Tips can also be texted to CRIMES (274637) or by visiting the Crime Stoppers website.

Crime Stoppers will pay up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest.
