SAN ANTONIO - San Antonio police have arrested a suspect they say is responsible for a gas station robbery thanks to a Crime Stoppers tip.

Dale Hallford, 18, was arrested on Tuesday.

According to an arrest warrant affidavit, police were called to a Valero gas station around 4 a.m. on May 9 for a report of a shooting in progress.

When police arrived they were told Hallford had entered the store,  located in the 400 block of S. WW White Road, and demanded cash. Workers said Hallford allegedly pointed what looked like a gun wrapped in a plastic bag at them.

They said after he left, he fired off two shots into the air.

Police put out a Crime Stoppers report which included surveillance photos of the suspect.

On May 19 they received a tip identifying Hallford as the robber.
