SAN ANTONIO – A San Antonio firefighter who was fired in March claimed that he failed a random drug test for the second time in two years because "he was set up" by the specimen taker, according to discipline records obtained by the KSAT 12 Defenders.
Firefighter Timothy Gill was handed an indefinite suspension March 13 after a random drug specimen tested positive for marijuana. It was his second failed test in less than two years.

Gill previously served a 30-day suspension after testing positive for marijuana in April 2015, according to city records.
During a meeting with Chief Charles Hood in March, Gill claimed that he had been clean since the first failed test.
Gill said "he thought he was set up" and "had problems with the specimen taker. (He) said he was very uncomfortable," according to notes from the face-to-face meeting.
The meeting ended after Hood said contractually he had no choice but to terminate Gill, according to the notes.
Gill was a five-year veteran of the SAFD.
A Fire Department spokesperson said Hood was not able to give a comment about Gill's termination.
