CIBOLO, Texas – A veteran officer with the San Antonio Police Department who was arrested earlier this year on a felony family violence charge has retired from the force, a department spokeswoman said.
Officer Robert Ingram, 43, retired Sept. 9, weeks after he was charged with impeding the breath or circulation of a 42-year-old woman inside a home in Cibolo.

Ingram was placed on administrative leave after the Aug. 22 incident.

A heavily redacted incident report released Tuesday by the Cibolo Police Department said that police detectives determined Ingram was a suspect in the case after visiting SAPD headquarters.
Ingram turned himself in to the Guadalupe County Jail two days later after a warrant was issued for his arrest, according to the report.
The case was forwarded to the Guadalupe County Attorney's Office for prosecution.
The Attorney's Office did not respond to a request Tuesday from KSAT 12 News for an update on the case.
Ingram was formerly an SAPD firearms instructor who was most recently assigned to South patrol.
He faces up to 10 years in prison, if convicted.
